another month, more milestones and hundreds of new friends to welcome!! i knew when we started our ads in kerrang! more people would become aware of us but i NEVER thought it would grow this much!! can you believe that we have 500 newbies!? incredible stuff. anyway, i'll shut up patting myself on the back and get on with the important stuff, the news from the world of SPiT LiKE THiS and smellyourmum.com >>>

if you live in or near nottingham you NEED to make sure that you come and see us support RACHEL STAMP this friday, july 2nd. it is going to be one hell of a show and our first one in the midlands (our first of many!). the show is being organised by WILDSIDE and TB RECORDS so big thanx to them. ok, here's what you need to know...

you can expect our 3rd ep (and 1st featuring the full SPiT LiKE THiS line-up) to be released in july 2004! the cover artwork is just about finished now and the final remix is being done as we speak.

more fool you if you missed it, it was great! 3 great bands in one sweaty venue. the date was june 6th and we were supporting the legendary geoff starr with his geoff starr band. big shout out to gs for being a great headline act!

nikki sixx, tracii guns and SPiT LiKE THiS!!

this is just the coolest thing in the world, ever.. best of all, it happened on my birthday!

anyway, we went up to london to see BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION, nikki sixx (motley crue) and tracii guns (la guns) latest project. we were lucky enough to get to meet the band before the show and was pleasantly surprised that they had heard of us! apparently, a few days beforehand, some of our S L u T z had given them an SLT t-shirt to sign!

anyway, we were jubilant at this news and gave them an advanced copy of our new EP, "dragged kicking & screaming" then parted. fast forward a couple of hours, a drunken SPiT LiKE THiS were partying in the bar before BRIDES were due on stage when "boom-boom-boom" the opening drums of our EP started playing over the house PA! they played the WHOLE of our EP, over and over again, on loop for about half an hour, basically until BRIDES hit the stage!!

mr sinatra cuts off finger!

disaster!! just two weeks before our support slot with rachel stamp, mr w a n k sinatra cut off his finger yakuza style! we can't go into details as to how or why it happened but, needless to say, it was hit or miss as to whether we would be able to play the show or not.

but, never fear, SPiT LiKE THiS won't let you down! we've sewn him up, taped him up and rehearsed so he should be ok. just make sure you guyz show up to give him 150% of your support!!
all in the name of rock 'n' roll, eh?!

i'm gonna keep plugging it! it's getting bigger and bigger - over 12,000 posts now (yes, that is 12 THOUSAND!!). ok, so we don't manage to stay on topic very often and just about every subject ends up being a tirade of sexual luridness, but it sure is fun!?!?!

i know, it's sad - wipe away those tears though, coz we'll be back next month, badder than ever!!

on the whole, june's been a quiet month for us as we're concentrating on putting together the new ep. the best bit about this month though, apart from the whole BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION thing, has been the amount of positive emails we've been receiving from you guyz. like i said at the beginning of this mailing, we are welcoming hundreds of new people to the SPiT LiKE THiS universe every month - and it feels good! that's hardly surprising though, considering the new heights of exposure we are getting. what IS surprising though is that 99.9% of all the emails / communications that we receive are not only positive, they are GUSHING!! it seems that you love what we do, how we do it and, most importantly, WHY we do it.

BUT, never forget, we wouldn't be able to do what we do if it weren't for YOU!! (and, no, that didn't mean to rhyme!). sounds lame but it is a simple FACT. this is damn hardwork and, for every bit of new ground we make, we come up against 10 brick walls, so it is ONLY those emails n stuff that you send that keep us going.

so, from all of us here at SPiT LiKE THiS hq - a simple and heartfelt THANK YOU!!!
