announement: we're back at the basement in maidstone
on november 10th 2004. it's an all-ages night

cancellation: got some bad newz i'm afraid. our gig
this friday at the tek, essex has been cancelled due to
flooding. the whole venue has been flooded out and
it is currently deemed unsafe by health &safety (the
fuckerz!!). stay tuned for a re-scheduled
date.

august 2004 you
know what? fuck being politically correct! i
am fucking pissed off. why? last night's
gig. several thingz wound me up beyond belief.
maybe someone out there will learn something from the rant
that is about to spew... 1) we got to the venue to
find out that we couldn't actually perform our stage
show. when you book SPiT LiKE THiS, you do not just
book 5 musicianz. we bring along a SHOW. we
are a proper rock band that cramz all sortz of
goodies on stage. the promotor and / or venue had
plenty of time to warn us in advance, to give us a chance
to pull, and they didn't. that suxx. 2) we get
put in the headline position because the headliners pulled
out. no-one asked if this was ok. to top all
that, the whole thing ran late so, by the time we hit the
stage, it was 11 and everyone had to fucking leave to
catch the last bus / tube. that is not cool.
3) the attitude of the venue itself. what a bunch of
arseholes. the second we were off stage, we were
told to basically get the fuck out. they hovered
over us whilst we were getting sorted and kicked us out of
the street. YOU FUCKING ARSEHOLES. 4) the lack
of "promotion" by the
"promotor". 9 out of 10 promotors do
this. they put a gig on in london - one of the
busiest cities in the world - barely do any advertising
and expect the bandz to do all their donkey work for
them. HEY, I HAVE NEWZ, THE WORD
"PROMOTOR" MEANZ "TO PROMOTE".
the clue is in the fucking title. there is a lot of
competition out there, you have to give people a reason to
come. putting 5 or 6 mix-matched bandz on does NOT
pull in the punters. you put 2 or 3 similar bandz
on, then people come. common sense, no?! 5)
the p.a. system. jesus h christ. we use a
better pa at our rehearsals!! no monitor sound and
constant feedback. no fucking volume either.
IT'S GOTTA BE LOUD OR IT AIN'T ROCK 'N' ROLL!! 6)
the price of the booze. for fuck's sake, £6 for a
jack n coke n extra coke?! are you having a
laugh? well, you'll be pleased to know that we
sneaked in plenty of our own booze, thankyouverymuch,
despite your best attemptz to stop us.
we
are fed up with being a professional band constantly being
treated like amateurz. don't get me wrong, there are
a lot of great promotorz and venues out there but, for
every 1, there are 10 wannabes. well, no more
wannabes please. if a promotor / venue wantz to book
us, that is great. i guarantee we will put on a
spellbinding performance. just don't fuck us around.

go out to all our SLuTz that tried to come and see us play
last night at the purple turtle. for some
unfathomable reason, the venue would not let them in
without id. there is NO LOGiC to this and we nearly
pulled the gig. however, it was NOT the fault of the
promotor so we didn't pull it out of respect for
him. however, let it be said, right here, right now
that you will NOT be seeing SPiT LiKE THiS at the purple
turtle, camden again. our SLuTz are worth
way more than any gig. SLT forever!!!

the only place to be last night was with us celebrating my
birthday at the brides of destruction gig in london.
got to meet tracii guns and nikki sixx - we
also gave them our new cd - tracii remembered the
band from download. best bit of the night
though: they played our cd over and over again
thru' the p.a. at the venue for about half an hour before
b.o.d. hit the stage! seemed to go down well with
the gathered masses too. how fucking cool is
that?!

day in the life of spit like this: spent about 5
hours recording a great new song, rebel lover.
discover that vikki and wank are completely
pissed and we're all in the need for more alcohol so a
late night run to tesco's in the boner. wank
plays football in the aisles and wanders around asking for
contraception. back at the hq, get completely
pissed and party. partying into the early hours when
we hear an explosion outside. zion
grabs his broadsword off the wall and runs outside
to investigate. we all then spend the next hour
watching as bemused firemen put out fires and quiz zion
about the sword he is wielding. give firemen a load
of coffee and they go away a bit confused with handfulls
of spit like this flyers and stickers and promises

those lucky bastards living in the kent / margate area of
the uk, we have had the details through of our first gig
in your area! we will be playing the lido, margate
on friday may 21st. this gig has come about
because loadz of our loyal SLuTz have been hassling
the venue non-stop so we want to see as many of you as
humanly possible there! it's only £3 with a
flyer, you can print
out a flyer sheet (as many as you like!) and
distribute them for us. this night is going to be
crazy, i tell ya, so don't let us down!!
